More important than a notion that A/E was written from experience is the fact that Mike A. considered A/E to be something other than a piece of literature in the standard sense.
	"It is a book, but that part hasn't really been written yet. Really it's more than that. It's a whole plan for doing things to be happy and for doing nothing. So, it's not fiction because all we have to do is make it happen in the future," Mike A.'s thin voice tells us again and again.
		Thus, there is a projection here from Mike A.'s past into a possible future of A/E.
