While in general there is great happiness, for some the constant flux of melting and isolating is too much to bare. They wish to melt without return into everything and exist in a state of simple, perpetual information relay.
	These persons are know as heterodynes. At the opposite end of the spectrum are the suppressed carriers. They lack an interest in transmitting and turn inward.
		As a communication facilitator, Cross attempts to retune those who have slipped off to either undesirable end of the spectrum. He is not sanctioned by any governing body, as no such formal things exist. He rather functions more like an independent contractor to the public good.
